CECAFA KAGAME CUP: Express leave it late to seal final slot.

Express FC 2 – 1 KMKM FC.

Uganda’s only remaining representative in the ongoing CECAFA Kagame cup tournament in Tanzania, Express FC needed a late goal from their talisman Eric Kambale to seal off the final slot at expense of Zanzibar Champions, KMKM FC at Chamazi Stadium.

Wasswa Bossa’s charges were trailing by a goal down heading into half time break thanks to KMKM’s Ibrahim Abdallah whose free kick had a deflection from defender Athur Kigundu in the 45+1′.

Muzamir Mutyaba leveled the game in 56th with a well taken free kick to bring life into Red Eagles camp.

Kambale separated the game in 90+1′ after converting a penalty kick.

Express FC return to the final of  the tournament after 26 years when they lost to Simba SC of Tanzania in 1995.

The Wankulukuku based outfit will be playing their third final and haven’t tasted victory in the previous two finals they have featured in (1994, 1995) .

Express FC will the winner between Azam FC and Nyasa Big Bullets who are playing tomorrow 11th August 2021.

KCCA FC are the defenfdef Champions but did manage to get out the group that had Messager Ngozi, Azam FC and KMKM.
