The CECAFA Kagame Cup tournament which is currently taking place in Tanzania the climaxed with group Stage games in toady’s evening Saturday, 7th July 2021 with two of Uganda’s representatives Express FC making through to the semi finals but KCCA FC as defending Champions fall short against Champions of Burundi Messager Ngozi.
Two first goals from Godfrey Lwesibawa and Muzamir Mutyaba plus Eric Kambale’s second half header sealed victory for Uganda Premier League’s defending Champions.
Paul Godfrey got the consolation for the Tanzania ginats.
Express FC topped group A with 7 points and still unbeaten as guest club from Malawi Nyasa Big Bullets also joined in the semi finals after coming second with a sensational 2-0 victory over Atlabara of South Sudan.
Competition’s defending chachampions, KCCA FC bow out of the competition after losing their last group game (1-0) against Messager Ngozi and finishing off the group B at the bottom place.
Azam FC topped group A with 6 points and KMKM of Zanzibar completed the 4 clubs in the semi finals after clinching a 3-2 victory over the ice cream makers.
Express FC will play against KMKM in the first semi final fixture, as Azam FC take on Nyasa Big Bullets to decide who make through to the semi finals.
