Uganda Cranes hard tackling defensive midfielder, Taddeo Lwanga played a vital role to ensure that the Tanzania Mainland League giants Simba Sports Club picked away win against D.R Congo side AS Vita in a Total CAF Champions league group stage game played over the night of Friday at Pentecost Martyr stadium in Kinshasa.

Chris Mugalu converted from a penalty kick at a hour mark after Vita’s player Sidi Yacouba handled the ball in the box.

Former SC Villa and Viper SC midfielder protected well the Simba SC backline to deny Vita forwards from easily reaching them and in due course he was booked in the 69th minute.

Simba SC go top of the group A with 3 points as they prepare their second game against Al Ahly.

In other game, Zamalek SC played to a goalless draw against Algeria’s outfit MC Alger at Cairo stadium in Egypt
