Total CAF Champions league draws for the group stages were held today 8th January afternoon at CAF headquarters in Cairo, Egypt following the completion of qualifying rounds over the midweek.
Defending Champions and all time record winners with 9 titles, Al Ahly are drawn in group A along side AS Vita of DR Congo, Simba SC of Tanzania and Al Merrikh of Sudan.
Group B. Compromises of five times competition winners, Tout Puissant Masembe (DRC), 2016 winners Mamelodi Sundowns (South Africa), two time winners Al Ahilal Omdurman (Sudan) and CR Belouuzdad (Algeria).
Moroccan only representative in this competition Wydad Athletic have been drawn in group C alongside Horoya AC (Guninea), Petro Athletico de Luanda (Angola) and debutants Kaizer Chiefs (South Africa).
2018 and 2019 back to back winners, Esperance de Tunis of Tunisia have been drawn in group D along side last edition’s runners up Zamalek SC (Egypt), MC Alger (Algeria), and another debutant Teungueth (Senegal).
The group stage games will run between the dates of 12-14 February untill 9-11 April and the top two group winners qualify to the knock out round (Quarter finals) which be played in month of May (14-16th) following the semi fanals in June (18-20) and final played on 17th July on a neutral ground.
