Bright Stars and Light SS FC among 11 clubs granted permission to change names.

After a successful FUFA Executive meeting that was held on 15. September 2020 at head quarters in Mengo, were a number of issues discussed.

Clubs asking to change ownership and  names was among the key decisions that were taken.

Twelve (12) clubs had submitted in their request to FUFA so that they can approve  change their names. 11 clubs were granted permission to change while one club denied.

Uganda Premier League oufit, Bright Stars FC and Light SS headlined the clubs that were approved to change   names.

Bright Stars FC Officially changed to Soltilo Bright Stars FC, Soltilo are the majority holders in the  club.

Light SS FC were the victims, after FUFA deciding to end the FUFA big league regular season prematurely due to covid-19 and  were among the teams that were relegated to Regional league and will start new life in Regional league with new name Soroti City FC.

Kengere word FC to Soroti Thunders

Light SS FC to Soroti City FC

Diamond stars FC to Arua City Council FC

Future options FC to Rwampara Bulls FC

U-Touch FC to Gulu City Council

Northern City to FC Pangar

Ibanda United to Ibanda municipal Sports Club.

Bukedea Town Council to Black Power FC.

Doves All Stars to Arua Hills FC

Faith Hope love FC to Moyo Town Council FHL FC.

Sorts Barca were  rejected to change their name to Ibanda United FC  since one club is using the same name.
