Botswana FA and Adel Amrouche mutually agree to part ways.

Botswana Football Association and Algerian born Coach, Adel Amrouche mutually agreed not to extend their contract beyond August this year.

The 53 year old coach was appointed as The Zebras Head coach in 2019 on a two-year contract and supposed to end August.

He failed to guide Botswana to the 2021 African Cup of Nations final tournament in Cameroon and only picking a single win in a group that had Zimbabwe, Zambia and Algeria.

“I’m eternally grateful for the opportunity to lead Zebras over the last two years. I leave having picked up quite a number of valuable lessons that will be necessary in the journey ahead. I wish the Zebras Success in future competitions.” Said Adel Amrouche.

Zebras are gearing up for the upcoming Cosafa senior championship 2021 which kick start next month and would be the last games and tournament that Amrouche is coaching Zebras.

Botswana is pooled in group A alongside South Africa Lesotho and Eswatin.

Adel Amrouche had previously handled nation teams of Kenya, Libya, Equatorial Guinea and Burundi.
