Best Bets for Sundays World Cup

Free-scoring Spain will be confident of flooring Germany with a KO blow in tomorrow’s Group E clash of the titans.

The Germans crashed out in the group stage at Russia 2018 and now face another early exit after a shock 2-1 defeat to Japan in their opener.

The contrast with Spain couldn’t be starker after Luis Enrique’s men started their campaign with a 7-0 demolition job against Costa Rica.

The Spaniards were hugely impressive so plenty of punters will fancy them for another win tomorrow, with McBookie making them 13/10 favourites and Germany 15/8 outsiders.

A draw probably won’t be good enough for Hansi Flick’s side so it bodes well for an open game as they need to go for it.

BTTS doesn’t offer much value at a best 13/20 with Unibet while over 2.5 goals isn’t much better at 3/4.

So I’m going for most goals to come in the second period (evens, McBookie) as a lot of games have taken time to warm up at this World Cup. A one-goal winning margin for either side also appeals and that pays 13/10 with the same firm.

Japan will fancy their chances of beating Costa Rica and they are McBookie’s 2/5 hot favourites.

Junya Ito was electric down the right flank against Germany and the Reims winger is 9/5 at McBookie for an assist.

Canada were desperately unlucky to lose 1-0 to Belgium in their Group F opener and could cause Croatia problems when they face off tomorrow.

John Herdman’s side had 22 shots at goal against the Belgians so I like the evens on offer at Unibet for over 11.5 Canada shots in this one.

Morocco managed to shut out Croatia in their opener and could frustrate a Belgium team that looks short of ideas.

Under 2.5 goals looks good in this one at 10/13 with Unibet while betting against BTTS pays 20/21 with BetVictor.

Super singles:

  • Most goals second half in Spain v Germany (evens, McBookie).
  • Junya Ito assist (9/5, McBookie). Over 11.5 Canada shots (evens, Unibet).
  • BTTS no in Croatia v Morocco (20/21, BetVictor).
