Aziz Damani Development Move Top


Aziz Damani Development clobbered ACC by 9 wickets as they ascended to the top of the table in the National Men’s 50 Over League.

In a game that lasted for only two hours, Development who won the toss and went for the ball bowled out their opponents in the 14.2 Overs. Henry Senyondo bagged a hat-trick, but most importantly, notched a fifer.

ACC had seven players ducked. The team’s highest scorer was Ronald Puwata with 19 and Ronald Lutaya (18) who just on Thursday knocked a century during the national trials.

ACC was bundled out with 55 runs on board. Damani utilized only 6.2 Overs to chase the target. Mukesh Makar 43 not out, Robinson Obuya 12 and Robert Ajuna 2 were the only players that batted for Development.

In Entebbe, Development sister club Aziz Damani also found little resistance in downing their opponents, Avengers. The defending champions won the tie by 134 runs. Shrideep Mangela knocked 103.

Riazat Ali Shah scored 68, Alpesh Ramjani 33, Anas Baig 25, Simon Ssesazi 24 and Falak Shah 19. Harsh Panchal and Girish Nasta each picked three wickets, but their efforts were not enough to restrict the score to something they could chase.

Teenager Christopher Kidega put on board 65, Aaron Kusasira 25, Abhishek Mashru 21and Nasta got the runs, but not enough to hand Damani an upset.

It was Damani’s first win this season having lost their opener to Development. The win takes Damani to sixth in the table standings, Development meanwhile go top and remain one of the only two teams yet to lose a game this term.
