FUFA Big League money bags, Arua Hills have completed the signing of former Uganda U17 National Football team forward, Iddi Abdulwahid on the two-year employment contract.
“Arua Hill SC is delighted to announce that former Uganda U17 International Forward Iddi Abdulwahid has his professional contract which will keep him at the club until 2022.” Reads statement on club media.
Abdulwahid played for Onduparaka FC junior team (Odunyiri) from 2016 till 2018 and he earned a chance to train with Italian Club Cagliari junior side for three months in 2019.
The 18-year-old forward was part of Uganda’s U17 national Football team that did play in the qualifiers of the U17 AFCON qualifiers in Tanzania and also made the final 21 man list for the final tournament.
He is excited about signing his first contract, promises to guide the club to the top-flight league.
“I am too excited and very happy because I have signed my very first contract and I wish to repay the trust,” Abdulwahid noted.
“I am here to promote the club to an elite league and hopefully open doors for a professional career overseas.” He added.
Meanwhile, the club gaffer Hussein Mbalangu sees the Young lad as the future Mohammed Shaban of West Nile region.
“Idd is special because he is so young, 18 and very talented and can score goals easily and his technique and speed.” Said Mbalangu.
“In this project, we want to groom mentor Iddi Abdulwahid properly so that within two years West Nile should be able to produce another Muhammad Shaban which will be Iddi.” Coach Mbalangu added.
The Arua Hill formerly Doves All-Stars have already confirmed six new signings ahead of the quest for top-flight league promotion.
And these new signings include; Dan Birikwalira, Rashid Agau, Mike Kawooya, Collinie Onega and Paddy Muhumuza
