Arua Hill poach Maroons CEO Pius Bamwenge


The January transfer window doesn’t only involve players moving but officials as well.

Such is the situation for reknown football administrator Pius Bamwenge now formerly a CEO at Maroons FC who has switched addresses to Arua Hill SC in the same position.

“Yes it’s true Pius has left Maroons for Arua Hill, he has done well since he joined and we wish him all the best.” an official at Maroons that preferred anonymity told Ndibba.

Bamwenge whose immediate task is to create a vibrant secretariate and map out a strategic plan to market Arua Hill has penned a three year deal and replaces Antony Afeti who has been CEO since Arua Hill gained promotion into the top flight

This website understands that Anthony Afeti fell out with the club owner Joel Aita on several fronts mostly on creating a vibrant marketing strategy for the club.

This won’t be the first time Pius Bamwenge is working with an Arua based club. He spent two seasons (2018-2020) with Onduparaka FC before returning to Maroons. He has also previously worked at Lweza FC and Saints FC.

Arua Hill who currently sit sixth on the log with 23 points will open their second round league campaign away to KCCA FC on 22nd February.
