Former Express FC and Onduparaka FC striker has penned down a two year contract with Arua Hill SC ahead of the 2020/21 FUFA Big League season.
Alfred Leku joins the Leopards as free agent after seeing off his one year contract with relegated Proline Football Club.
Leku feels good returning back to Arua and on joining a FUFA big league team, the 23 year old forward sees no bigger difference between the top flight league and second tier league as he hopes to getting playing time with Arua Hill.
“To decide to play for Arua Hill in the FUFA Big League offers me a homecoming feeling, I feel home indeed.” Leku told Club media.
“It’s a step for me because as far as I am concerned, there is no longer bigger difference between the Premier League and Big League.”
“I believe I have played enough football, so here I will get enough time to be in this pitch and that will help me to improve, to lift up my game to be level of my expectations.” He concluded.
Alfred Leku will always be remembered by the Express FC fraternity as he rescued them on last day of the 2017/18 season from going down into Big League with his only strike against Masavu FC (defunct), won the game for the Red Eagles to stay in the league at the expense of Proline FC who lost their game to URA FC.
Leku passed through ranks at Viper SC but failed to get the first team and was loaned for more development and gain more playing time at Onduparaka FC and Express FC.
After his short loan spell with Red Eagles that saw him appear on scoresheet once in the last game, he was released by his parent club (Vipers) and joined Botswana Premier League outfit Jagwaneng Galaxy, who also loaned him Extension Gunners until he was released and joined Proline FC at start of last season on one year contract.
Arua Hill SC have so far unveiled seven new signings and these includes Paddy Muhumuza, Birikwalira Dan, Mike Kawooya, Collinie Onega, Idd Abdulwahid, Brian Aden, Rashid Agau and now Alfred Leku.
