Uganda Under 20 football National team made their debut at the Total U20 Africa Championships on a winning note with an impressive 2-0 victory over Mozambique in game played in the afternoon of Monday at Olympic stadium in Mauritania.

Derrick Kakooza converted from spot in 56th minute after hand ball to put Uganda in the lead after asking a lot of questions from the Mozambique defenders.

Steven Serwada doubled the lead with a half volley with 3 minutes into final minute.

Both Uganda and Mozambique are making their debut in the 16th edition of the tournament.

Uganda go top of group A level on points with Cameroon but beats them on a better goal difference.

Ibrahim Mugulusi was named man of the match.

Uganda Hippos next game will be against Cameroon on 17th February and climax the group game with hosts (Mauritania) on 20th February.
